This is a set of NASCAR themed cases, since they are a set and basically identical please count them as just one unit. They are the Dale Earnhardt #3 and Dale Earnhardt Jr #8 Monte Carlos. No real mods here unless you count taking the fans apart and spraying the blades to match the cases.

I started off with 2 identical Compaq cases. I disassembled both cases and sprayed the 2 chassis’ with Rust Oleum Hammered Metal Black.

Next I painted the side panels, front bezels and top. The #3 case was painted with Black Krylon Fusion and the #8 with Red Krylon Fusion. I added a rear 80mm fan to each case. On the #3 case I took the Raidmax fan apart and paint the fan blades with Krylon Fusion Hammered Metal Silver and reassembled with a round carbon fiber tape bearing cover. I did the same with the #8 case, with the exception of using Red Krylon Fusion.

Now, that the paint had dried, I added the vinyl decal sets to each case. (the decals were high quality automotive grade vinyl) I tried to put the decals on the cases as if they were on a model car, in other words, the front headlights were they would be and the rear where they would be and so on. Once that was complete I applied several coats of Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic.

I was pleased at how they turned out, and I plan on doing a few more. ;)
