This case was an endevour into submerssed computers. Mainly, All the computer components like the motherboard and power supply are immersed in a dielectric fluid (doesn’t conduct electricity). The choice for this case was to go with mineral oil, since it looks like water, but has none of the bad things that go along with electrical components vs. water. The case is made with plate glass that is siliconed together aquarium style by myself, but shallow. The standoffs for the motherboard are hand drilled acrylic rods siliconed to the base. And possibly the most interesting part about this case is it’s on button, or really a lack of on button. There is no external button, just a magnetic reed switch hidden on one of the fans activated by a strong magnet hidden in a small toy. The DVD burner will be mounted behind one of the monitors as well as the hard drive will be mounted behind the other monitor, keeping them out of sight. Right now, I’m just waiting for my supply of oil, 20 litres of it, and then it will be complete.
