Deets

War Machine will be an amalgamation of styles from a few sources. The idea is to create a case that appears menacing and yet stylish. Light in weight but very heavy in mood and appearance. A case that mixes elements of organic looking cast iron power with sleek polished features.

I am focusing on what I hope will be a nice balance of mods and finishing. I imagine this case being what you might get if you mixed the Roman Empire at its peak with that of Nazi Germany 1942. Hard to imagine? Well, maybe it will begin to make more sense as the project progresses.

Panel Assembly and Flame Polishing

The graphics for War Machine finally arrived so we can move on to the long awaited panel assembly. I have attempted to explain several times how these panels will be put together and despite my best efforts and diagrams some times you just need to see it to understand the plan.

Creating an aged bronze finish

The Bronze finish has been completed. I want to give a big shout out to Ogre for helping me with the project. Having an extra set of enthusiastic hands really helped me make my design come together faster.

To achieve the look I wanted for this case design I went with an aged finish. Ancient bronze is the look I wanted so I started with a bronze finish made by Sophisticated Finishes. I picked up a bottle of Bronze Metallic Surface paint at the local art supply. While I was at it I also purchased a set of sponges, bristle brushes and some aging solution.
