I started with an old Apex supercase, that I had for about 7 years, with two systems in it, AMD 800Mhz slot & P4 2.6Ghz pc133 memory. I needed a new system & wanted to build an SLI system with Really good cooling, without using water, I looked around for a case & seen a few that I liked, but always wanted to mod my old case, because it was big & had the room to fit an SLI system, but needed some work. The hard drive design was awful, the front intake fan was small, it was just an old lay-out that needed a total transformation for modern hardware of today. The transformation started with two 120mm ducts fiberglassed in front for intake, A custom 5 drive Black Transparent Plexiglass hard drive cage with flames, relocated above the power supply, to keep them cool I used a 140mm fan at the back for intake & two side 80mm fans & 120mm fan at the top of the case for exhaust, also a vantec vortex 2, 5-1/2 bay device to intake from the front, I then changed the back bottom 80mm fan to a 92mm, then a 120mm intake fan blowing up at the second SLI video card. Power, reset & hdd led were relocated were the old case badge was, the letter S was cut out for a side window with three 80mm fans below. The motherboard tray was cut out to allow cpu heatsink removal, with an 80mm fan blowing on the back side of the motherboard in the cpu area. The case shell & bay devices were painted with Black Gunmetal Candy Pearl paint. Taller new pimp wheels were installed to allow for bottom airflow & easy movement. Because now it’s packed with goodies & weigh a ton.
